GamePro Shuts Down

In the age of the internet, magazines and newspapers have taken heavy loses, sometimes leading to them shutting down but this one hits close to home for many gamers of the 90′s. After announcing earlier this year that GamePro would be cutting their magazine’s production to a quarterly publication, they are now shutting down is production entirely. No main website, no magazine, only a slim remnant of their former organization will be left on pcworld.com with an occasional convention/event focused issue to match up with the big gatherings like E3.

Until now, GamePro has run issues of their monthly magazine since early 1989.

Is this just a simple company running on hard times or are there just too many gaming websites and blogs for magazines to keep up?
