Tecmo Koei has announced that The Atelier series developer Gust will become a subsidiary.
Koei Tecmo Holdings will be acquiring all 495 shares of Gust stock which will make the small publisher into wholly owned by Tecmo Koei. The transfer is planned for the middle of this month. The purchase price for the stock will be 22 million yen.
Koei Tecmo Net, a Koei Tecmo Holdings subsidiary, does serve as Japanese domestic distributor for Gust’s games.
In its announcement of the acquisition, Koei Tecmo Holdings noted that Gust has produced a very popular IP(Atelier series) with many fans and they hope to continue the legacy in a variety of fields.
