Rumors have been circulating that Assassin’s Creed III may include more than one assassin teaming up to fight the good fight. There is an article over at IGN which offers some suggestion that AC III may include 2-4 player online cooperative play. So, what is the evidence for this exactly? Well, it is actually pretty flimsy.
For a short time, Microsoft put up a product listing for the game on its website with a bullet point that declared the game would have 2-4 player online co-op. The detail has since been pulled, and could just as easily been a misuse of a product listing template as opposed an actual leak. But it could have been an unintentional leak of information that they wanted to release in a better way. Such as a tease trailer that would actually show two assassins working together.
Game Informer reached out to Ubisoft about the story, but Ubisoft of course declined to offer any official comment on the matter.
While it is very possible for Assassin’s Creed III could include an online cooperative component. It would be very possible for two assassins running around, and enjoying some jumping off buildings, trees, and structures together. But only time will actually be able to tell if the rumor turns into fact. In my personal opinion I think a cooperative of Assassin’s Creed would be beyond amazing. I look forward to seeing this come true, at least I hope it becomes true. But what are your opinions? Do you think this is something that Ubisoft will do? Let us know your opinion of a cooperative Assassin’s Creed.
