Gamescom 2012: New Contracts Mode for Hitman: Absolution‏

Players Can Finally Prove Who is the Ultimate Assassin

IO Interactive has revealed a new “innovative” Online mode called “Contracts” for Hitman: Absolution, allowing gamers to create and share their own custom hit challenges.

In this mode players will mark certain opponents in levels as targets for others to hunt and take down. Time is everything, as the more quickly the target is dealt with, the more money players will gain, allowing them to buy weapons and disguises. The mode allows the gamers to set the rules from levels, targets, weapons and then the requirement for completing the contract based on time, style and witnesses.

“CONTRACTS was inspired by our loyal and extremely creative fans, many of whom are still finding new and amazing ways of taking out targets in previous Hitman games,” said Christian Elverdam, game-play director for Hitman.

So how do you feel about an online mode for Hitman? Personally, I’m torn between wanting my single-player games to be single-player, but after reading this, it does sound interesting. Plus it will add more game-play time even after you finished the story mode, which I’m all for.
