The passing of June 30th marks the end of Q2 and a disappointing one at that for Nintendo and the Wii U.
Over the three month period the Wii U only managed to sell 160,000 units worldwide. Even more shockingly, its predecessor the Wii sold 50,000 units more then the Wii U. Game sales were also just as poor, as only 1 million Wii U games were sold.
Ironically it seems that the lack of first party titles is the reason behind the Wii U’s lackluster performance. However with key titles presumably on their way Nintendo is confident that they will reach 9 million units sold by the end of March 2014.
